SUBJECT: Manhattan Beach Pollinator Habitat Project
–
Rotary District 5280 Grant Application
To Whom It May Concern:

The City of Manhattan Beach is pleased to support the Rotary Club of Manhattan Beach and Rotarians for Environmental Action in their applicat
ion to Rotary District 5280 for
the Manhattan
Beach Pollinator Habitat Project. The proposed project will be located on City property adjacent to the Downtown Post Office Annex at 425 15th Street.

The City recognizes the value of this initiative to enhance pollinator habitat, beautify the community, and engage local volunteers in environmental stewardship. The project will install and maintain California native plants, create interpretive signage to educate the public about native ecology and
pollinator protection, and foster partnerships with organizations such as the South Bay Parkland Conservancy, Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden, and Leadership Manhattan Beach.

This collaborative effort supports the City’s broader sustainability goals by promoting biodiversity, public education, and civic engagement. The project will cultivate long -
term stewardship through
volunteer participation and community
-
based maintenance e
vents, ensuring continued benefit well
beyond the grant period.

The City of Manhattan Beach supports this project and authorizes the Rotary Club to include this Letter of Support in its 2025 Rotary District 5280 Grant Application. While no financial commitment is made
at this time
, the City will coordinate with Rotary representatives to ensure alignment with City policies and existing site features and will evaluate any long -
term maintenance responsibilities
as part of future project review.

On behalf of the City, we thank Rotary District 5280 for its continued leadership in supporting community
-
based environmental initiatives and commend the Rotary Club of Manhattan Beach and its partners
for their commitment to sustainability, education, and civic engagement.

Sincerely,

Talyn Mirzakhanian
