Proclamation
National Family Caregivers Month, observed each November, recognizes the vital contributions of more than 50 million Americans who provide unpaid care and support to their loved ones with chronic illness, disabilities, or the frailties of aging; and these family caregivers serve as the backbone of our nation’s long -term care system, providing a wide array of essential services such as managing medications, coordinating appointments, assisting with daily tasks, and providing crucial emotional support; and this dedicated service is often performed at great personal sacrifice, with caregivers frequently facing significant emotional, physical, and financial challenges as they balance their caregiving responsibilities with their own work, families, and lives; and the 2025 theme, “Plug -in to Care,” emphasizes the importance of helping caregivers connect with vital support tools, networks, and educational resources to sustain them in their demanding roles; and
celebrating National Family Caregivers Month in an opportunity to raise public awareness of caregiving issues, educate communities, and increase support for those who give so much of themselves; and
it is imperative that we recognize and honor the courage, selflessness, and devotion of family caregivers and renew our commitment to ensuring they have the resources, support, and recognition they deserve.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that I, David Lesser, Mayor of the City of Manhattan Beach, California , on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Manhattan Beach, do hereby proclaim November, 2025 as
National Family Caregivers Month
and encourage everyone to remember that in order for caregivers to provide the best care possible, they must also take care of themselves.
