A RESOLUTION OF THE MANHATTAN BEACH CITY
COUNCIL APPROVING AN EMERGENCY EXEMPTION OF
PERMIT EXTENSION AND REINSTATEMENT FEES
ASSOCIATED WITH UTILITY UNDERGROUNDING
ASSESSMENT DISTRICTS NO. 19-12 AND 19-14
WHEREAS, the extended duration and complexity of the utility undergrounding service conversion phase has caused several electrical building permits to expire or are soon to expire, despite good -faith efforts by property owners, contractors, and City staff alike.
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to expedite the full completion of Utility Underground Assessment Districts No. 19-12 and 19-14, and mitigate the administrative and financial barriers for affected property owners.
THE MANHATTAN BEACH CITY COUNCIL HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby approves an emergency exemption of permit extension and reinstatement fees associated with utility undergrounding assessment districts 19-12 and 19-14.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby directs the City Manager or her designee to waive and/or refund permit extension and reinstatement fees for affected property owners within Districts 19-12 and 19-14.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.
