National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was founded in 2015 by Concerns of Police Surviors (C.O).P.S) to rccognize officers across the country for the daily sacrilices they make for their communities; and
Mierers. C:O.P.S. provides a national support netork for families and co-workers who hare lost a loved one in the line of duty and supports positive recognition of ollicers doing good work cror dar; and
Wherers.
Lam Enlorcement Ollicers build meaninglul relationslaps with communits mombers, foster trust, suppor victims, and collaborate with community partners to strengthen public safet and improre quality of lile; and
Whereas. Manhattan Beach Officers commitment to the communis policing Manhattan Beach helps lo proactrelt educate and provide public salet resources for more than 35,000 residents; Whereas. ire appreciate the evraordinary clorts and sacrilices made by ollicers and their lamilies, on a daily basis in order to protect our schools, workplaces, roadwars and homes; and Wherers. the well-being of'the City of Manhattan Beach residents is preserved and enhanced as a direct result ofthe vigilance of'these ollicers.
Now. Therefore. Be I Rescleed thatS, David Lesser, Mayor ofthe Cing of Manhaltan Beach, Calilornia, on behall ol'the Cio Council and the residents of Manhattan Beach, do hereby proclaim Jamart y 2026, as
