STATE OF THE CITYE.
Mayor Lesser introduced Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce Chair, Jessica Vincent, who provided remarks for the 2026 State of the City and introduced John Thorrington, LAFC Co-President, General Manager and former professional soccer player, who presented Master of Ceremony.
LAFC Co-President, General Manager and former professional soccer player Thorrington introduced Mayor David Lesser, who presented the “2026 View for the City.”
Mayor Lesser introduced Police Chief Rachel Johnson, who presented the “State of MBPD.”
Police Chief Johnson introduced City Manager Talyn Mirzakhanian, who presented “Moving Business Forward in Manhattan Beach.” City Manager Mirzakhanian introduced Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jill Lamkin, who presented “How to Capitalize on the World Cup in Manhattan Beach.”
Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Lamkin introduced Alexi Lalas, FOX Sports World Cup commentator and former Team USA soccer player, who presented “World Cup Visitors: What to Expect.”
Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Lamkin introduced Manhattan Beach Unified School District Board President Tina Shivpuri, who presented “Future of Public Education.”
Manhattan Beach Unified School District Board President Shivpuri introduced Manhattan Beach Education Foundation Executive Director Hilary Mahan, who presented “Public Education Funding.”
Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce President Lamkin provided closing remarks for the 2026 State of the City.
Mayor Lesser recognized and introduced the Western State League Champion Red Bananas AYSO U14 Girls Soccer Team.
