International Firefighters' Dar is obserred each rear on Mar Ith to honor and remember past firelighters who have lost their lives while serving their communities, to express gratitude to those who have served in this line of work, and to show support and appreciation for those who present serve; and Whereres regardless of the language a trelighter speaks, or the country in which he or she works and resides, all firefighters fight against the same enem - fire; and Wherers. tirefighters follow a long line of tradition and honor that inspires them to help colleagues, neighbors and strangers alike; and
Whereas at a moment's notice, tirelighters are quick to respond to uncertain situations to mitigate danger and combat the threat of destructive fire in order to protect individuals, families, and the economic being of our community; and Whereas. the demands of firefighting are accompanied be both personal and plysical tolls that all tirefighters knowingly accept while risking their lives to protect the lives of others; and
Wherers. in placing the well-being of society above their personal concerns the firefighters of the City of Manhattan Beach exempliți the highest nobility and greatest commutment to humanitaran ideals.
New, Therefore, Be It Resolved that I, David Lesser, Mayor of the Cits of Manhattan Beach, Californa, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Manhattan Beach, do herebs proclaim the dar of Mar 1, 2020, as
International Firefighter's Day
and I encourage our citizens to thank and show their appreciation to firefighters who dedicate their lives to protect life and property for all.
