Wherers. the week of May 3 through Mar 9, 2026 has been designated as "Public Service Recognition Week" to honor employees of the Federal, State, and local governments and members of the uniformed services who are entrusted with missions fidamental to the U'nited States and deliver services upon which Americans depend; and Whereas public emplorees take not only jobs, but solemn oaths to perform their jobs to the best of their abilities; and
Micrens. maur public servants, including military personnel, police ofticers, firetighters, border control officers, embasst emplorees, healthcare professionals and others, risk their lives each day in service to the people of the U'nited States and around the work; and
Merenes, career cil servants cant out the most fidamental purpose of government - to ensure public satețr and represent the public interest in addressing social, economic and political challenges; and
Mierers. without these public servants at ever level, continuiț would be impossible in a democract that regularly changes its leaders and elected othcials.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resoleed that 1, David Lesser, Maror of the City of Manhattan Beach, California, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Manhattan Beach, do herebr proclaim the week of Mat 3, 2020, through Mar 9, 2026 as Public Serrice Recognition Week.
and encourage all of our citizens to recognize the accomplishments and contributions of government emplorees at all lerels-federal, state, countr, and especialt our City of Manhattan Beach emplorees.
