RESOLUTION NO. 26-0035
A RESOLUTION OF THE MANHATTAN BEACH CITY COUNCIL AMENDING THE CITY MANAGER’S EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT TO PROVIDE: (1) A TWO YEAR TERM; (2) A 7.5% PERCENT BASE SALARY INCREASE EFFECTIVE MAY 16, 2026; (3) A 2.5% INCREASE IN DEFERRED COMPENSATION EFFECTIVE MAY 16, 2026; AND (4) A 4% COST OF LIVING ADJUSTMENT EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2027
RECITALS
A. The Manhattan Beach City Council and Talyn Mirzakhanian entered into an employment agreement (“Agreement”) on November 6, 2024, under which Ms. Mirzakhanian serves as the City Manager for the City of Manhattan Beach.
B. The City Council desires to amend the Agreement to provide Ms. Mirzakhanian with: (1) a two-year term; (2) a 7.5% percent base salary increase effective May 16, 2026; (3) a 2.5% increase in deferred compensation effective May 16, 2026; and (4) a 4% cost of living adjustment effective May 1, 2027.
NOW THEREFORE, The Manhattan Beach City Council hereby resolves as follows:
SECTION 1. The above recitals are hereby incorporated by this reference.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby approves Amendment No. 1 to the employment agreement (“Agreement”) between the City and Talyn Mirzakhanian (“City Manager” hereinafter).
SECTION 3. Pursuant to Gov. Code § 36506, the City Council hereby fixes the compensation (salary and benefits) of the City Manager in the amount set forth in Section 4 of the Agreement, as amended by this Amendment No. 1.
SECTION 4. The Mayor shall execute the Amendment on behalf of the City.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.
