Proclamation
National IT Professionals Day is held on the third Tuesday in September and was initially created in 2015 to recognize the technical experts that make our computer systems run smoothly; and
IT professionals rise to the challenge each and every day to navigate monumental and ever-evolving transformations across the globe; and
information technology professionals are instrumental in driving innovation, implementing new technologies that enhance efficiency, security, and user experience across various platforms; and
IT professionals, including network engineers, system administrators, database administrators, and cybersecurity specialists, are essential to businesses, organizations, and our communities, ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems, networks, applications, and technology infrastructure; and in our new hybrid work environments, dependency upon IT professionals has become increasingly significant; and
these individuals often work behind the scenes, ensuring data security and system stability, demonstrating the crucial importance of their often unsung work; and the City of Manhattan Beach’s IT professionals keep business running smoothly whether it be desktops, laptops, mobile devices, applications, servers, networks, databases, or cybersecurity; and
National IT Professionals Day recognizes and celebrates the immense contributions that information technology professionals provide to enhance quality of life, enable education, sustain businesses and jobs, drive economic success and innovate for future generations.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that I, Joe Franklin, Mayor of the City of Manhattan Beach, California, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Manhattan Beach, do hereby proclaim September 15, 2026, as
