that I, Joe Franklin, Mayor of the City of Manhattan
Beach, California, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Manhattan Beach, do herebyproclaim October 21, 2026, as the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce was founded on April 12, 1956 and is an essential organization dedicated to strengthening the local economy and promoting business growth and prosperity in Manhattan Beach; and
this year marks the 114th anniversary of the founding of the US Chamber of Commerce, a national institution to represent the unified interests of US under President William Howard Taft; and
the Chamber of Commerce fosters stronger, more vibrant communities by advocating for priorities to promote economic prosperity, boost quality of life and create access to meaningful employment and opportunity for all residents; and
local businesses form the foundation of our community’s economy, provide jobs for residents, and contribute to the unique character and vitality of our city: and the Chamber of Commerce are champions of communities, serving as a trusted resource for businesses, residents and other stakeholders; and
a strong, active, and well-supported Chamber of Commerce is critical to the continued success and resilience of our local business environment.
