RESOLUTION R20XX-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING AND SIDE LETTER FOR THE MANTECA PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS IAFF LOCAL 1874 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2022 WHEREAS, the City of Manteca has a memorandum of understanding with the Manteca Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1874; and WHEREAS, the memorandum of understanding expired on June 30, 2021; and WHEREAS, the City of Manteca and the Manteca Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1874 negotiated and agreed to a new contract; and WHEREAS, the term of the new contract is July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022; and WHEREAS, the City of Manteca and the Manteca Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1874 agreed to a supplemental item of the contract which as a stand-alone item expires June 30, 2022; and WHEREAS, two one-time non-PERSable payments will be paid to members of this unit hired on or before November 8, 2021, utilizing American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funds; WHEREAS, the addition of the separate bank of leave is in recognition of being front-line first responders during the COVID-19 pandemic; and WHEREAS, an incentive will be paid to members of this unit who are fully vaccinated from COVID-19 no later than December 15, 2021 again utilizing ARPA funds; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
1. The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
2. Approval of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funds of $225,000 to fund the agreed upon contract with the Manteca Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1874
3. Approval of the Manteca Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1874 Memorandum of Understanding effective July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022.
4. Approval of the Manteca Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1874 Side Letter effective July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022.
5. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 18th day of January, 2022, by the following vote:
