RESOLUTION R20XX-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND FEDERAL EMERGENCY management AGENCY’S FIRE PREVENTION & SAFETY (fps) GRANT, AUTHORIZE THE BUDGET APPROPRIATIONs, AND AUTHORIZE THE FIRE CHIEF, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO SIGN OR OTHERWISE INDICATE APPROVAL OF ANY TERMS AND CONDITIONS WHEREAS, on August 23, 2021, the City of Manteca was officially notified it had been awarded a Fire Prevention & Safety (FPS) grant for $3,091.00; and WHEREAS, the City of Manteca desires to accept said grant; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to allocate funds for the matching portion of said grant; and WHEREAS, acceptance of the FPS grant requires use of the online grant management tool as maintained by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which will require the Fire Chief, or his designee, to indicate approval of certain terms and conditions to release the funds; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
1. The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
2. The City Council does hereby accept the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Fire Prevention & Safety (FPS) grant in the amount of $3,091.00.
3. Approve a budget appropriation of $3,091.00 to the Intergovernmental Grants-Federal FEMA Revenue Account (No. 120.13.00.000-4450.36).
4. Approve a budget appropriation of $3,246.00 to the Fire Prevention Expense Account (No. 120.13.00.280-6230.01).
5. Authorize the Fire Chief, or his designee, to sign or otherwise indicate approval of any terms or conditions needed to obtain or release the funds from the FPS grant.
5. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
