RESOLUTION R2022-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE CENSURE POLICY WHEREAS, the City of Manteca, by and through the City Council, approved a censure policy on April 6, 2021; WHEREAS, the City Council has the authority to amend the censure policy as it deems appropriate; and WHEREAS, the censure policy focuses on adherence to the Brown Act, conflict of interest laws, and the City’s Ethics and Civility policies; and WHEREAS, the City Council believes that in addition to elected officials, appointed commissioners should also be encouraged to abide by those laws and policies; and WHEREAS, the proposed amendments expand the scope of coverage for the censure policy to include appointed commissioners; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed amendments reflect the best practices for the City of Manteca; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
1. The City Council hereby approves and authorizes the proposed amendments to the censure policy as attached herein, to include appointed commissioners.
2. All of other terms and conditions of the censure policy shall remain in effect.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 15th day of February, 2022, by the following vote:
