On businesses own property. Like at a bar, or great Wolf, somewhere that a non food place can add Downtown to help revitalize the area.

Not just downtown, that is hard to get to. Rotate the location but notify people. Woodward park.

Manteca doesn't have many decent places to eat out, so anything new is a plus. NEED More than just Near some of the parks during sports
Woodward park
grocery/large shopping center parking lots (such as the new ACE Hardware, Raley's, Target, etc.) Library park is good, but also regular neighborhood parks that are near high schools.

In the same place from week to week so if we want to go we know where to go On the corner of Yosemite and Pestana, or near the US Social Security Administration behind homedep Lots of open field areas in Manteca. As long as its safe to pull over avoiding traffic, Airport.

Near parks
outside events, regular night
JCPenny shopping center - possibly rotating monthly to different parts of town to increase merchant Not by Library Park
I do think having them near the library is good. Maybe also on Moffat near Main St.

City events, other events from church’s, schools and other organizations. Stores, breweries too Somewhere besides downtown. Just not the best area to go to A weekly event with a some would be great. Not sure where as I’m still learning the area.

All over not in just ones spot

30.0% We should allow food trucks on private property.

11.3% We should end the pilot program allowing food trucks on Poplar Ave. near Library Park.

10.7% We should…
Unfiltered responses:

Support these local businesses in the fullest
Build a designated lot. As Modesto has done and Lathrop is doing.

Allow food trucks to park where they please because they are a mobile business not a McDonald’s Not allow them near a park controlled by homeless
avoid competing with brick and motar restaurants
allow food trucks for the north side of town where it's more convenient @ the old Kmart parking lot Have more selections
Only allow organized quarterly events with proper security at Woodward Park, making it an event.

Or you can create another location that has food trucks and outdoor/covered seating.

Make sure they are not near homes that wd be affected by smell or lots of ppl congregating.

Keep all in one area designated or Louis & Airport 2nd choice location Not allow them near restaurants to cause competion.

Make sure there are not too many food trucks and keep them in areas that don't compete with restaur Move it to a safer area for patrons
Question 5: Any other comments or suggestions about food trucks in Manteca? Unfiltered responses:

Allow food trucks to conduct business where they please, it’s disgusting that they are discriminated against because of the ethnicity yet we allow guns store next to Starbucks Build a designated lot with parking, seating and restrooms. Modesto has one, so we don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Lathrop looks to be building one on Harland road north of Louise Ave.

I'm not sure if my previous comment went through. Manteca is sorely lacking in dining options. A food truck plaza here in Town would be awesome and there are plenty of empty businesses to achieve this. Even if a Food Truck plaza is not on the radar, Food trucks bring a huge variety of culture and different foods that our community is sorely lacking in.

Food trucks with variety of healthful menus
Some of the vacant lots around town would be good. Manteca is lacking eateries like olive garden, red lobster, TX roadhouse. A Dave and Buster's would be nice since there are games for older (teen to adult) crowds. The food trucks sort of fill this void, but not entirely.

I haven’t seen any healthy or Keto diet food trucks or Restaurants in Manteca. I would definitely shop or eat at a Keto restaurant Food trucks take business away from restaurants.

More Food Trucks! Support Small Business!
I think it’s great to have more food options in Manteca. I do not like the area of town they currently are, I think people need a space where they can feel comfortable walking down the street Just make sure the food trucks are sanitary and have a good selection of trucks too.

I wouldn't go to the food trucks because of their location.

Like them as long as potential traffic problems are addressed. I still haven’t forgiven the City for the location of Chick Filet. Blocking the off ramp from 99 South SO BADLY. Didn’t anyone think about it??? Look, Manteca is already known for all the ''FAST FOOD" restaurants and furniture stores. Why not try to wine and dine some UP SCALE restaurants, such as Ruth Chris, or the like, along with places of entertainment beyond 'water slides' to make Manteca more of a destination as opposed to a launching point? Food trucks are fine, but lets not go overboard, leave them for specific places in the city and grow the city in other ways besides 'street food'!!!!! Maybe somewhere safer where the homeless aren’t prevalent

MAKE SURE THEY ARE CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL
I’d like to see local businesses have access to food trucks, more liberally than allowed now.

Just make sure the trucks are cleaned daily!
I don't like the location of Library Park for food trucks. I avoid it due to the history of homelessness in that area.

Post food truck locations and hours online.

Food truck festivals in the summer could draw people from the surrounding towns I think food trucks are great. They allow a wide variety of food types. They can also help people that may not be able to afford a brick and mortar location to start their own business.

The area that was chosen is a hub for homelessness. No one wants to go there because it feels unsafe. Especially families with children feel that they have to avoid the area.

I really hope it continues
Creating a "Food Truck Court" where they can park and have a seating area for the customers, much like a "Food Court" in a mall.

I really liked when we had the food truck event at Woodward Park. You were guaranteed to have many options and it wasn't hit or miss since it was a weekly? event. It's also nicer there because you can sit, relax and eat. At the library park you only have a couple food truck options and you get your food and leave usually.

Advertise more so we get a wider variety of choices
The food trucks would definitely get more customers if weren't parked near the park that has a significant amount of homeless.

It's a great idea.

Consider setting up monthly at different locations throughout the city. Advertise so that the food trucks as well as the local merchants could get additional patrons to the area.

Food trucks are a good idea, as long as they clean up their area before leaving for the day.

Allow them to move to more populated areas, but for very specific times, say 11-2 for a lunch truck, 7-10 for a coffee/breakfast truck and 2-4 for a coffee/snack truck. Not every food truck needs to a "lunch" truck. Locations? Transit station, ACE train station, City parking lots.

I don't really visit food trucks on a regular basis. When I do, it's usually at a Manteca event, like the 4th of July, Manteca Street Fair, Pumpkin Fair, etc. In my experience, the food is great, and a nice alternative.

I think allowing food trucks in places that do not cause traffic/parking problems should be allowed.

Is there an online site where the public can see where the Food trucks are located... their hours. And kinds of food.

It would be nice if they did pop up spots just for fun
wherever they are placed, parking and access should be easy We should have the health inspector inspect the trucks more frequently than restaurants without having complaints just to make sure that they keep up with their cleanliness.

Make sure they are health inspected and clean up any mess before they leave and provide a garbage can.

Located at cross street front of Manteca city hall
Put them if a place that doesn't compete. Like a parking lot away from restaurants Make sure they follow all health codes. Inspection should be done once a week.

We need more than just Mexican food trucks! How about hot dogs/brats, fried chicken, stone-fired pizzas, or another great one-bagels and schmier sandwiches.

WAY too many fast food Mexican style here a healthy choice would be a much better way to go If allowed they should be required to have bathroom and hand wash facility at the site Instead of focusing on food trucks, how about more actual restaurants/cafes for residents to dine at?! Diversity of food
Food trucks are fine for facilities outside the city. In my opinion they attract problems within the city.

Our local restaurants need our support! Brick and mortar restaurants must pay permits and taxes, including to the City of Manteca. They are also regularly checked on by the fire department and health department to assure the public's safety. Portable restaurants (food trucks) undermine the local restaurant business of our local establishments and do not contribute to nor answer to these entities (and if they do it is way less than brick and mortar restaurants do. Get rid of them and patronize our local restaurants before they are all closed! Downtown looks bad enough without food trucks nearby! Removing the food trucks might actually remove the homeless problem in Library Park nearby too! Traffic is already becoming nuisance in Manteca. If want to maintain food trucks, they should only operate from parking lots, not on public roads.

I like the food trucks especially during the pandemic
Do food trucks attract any illicit activities or violent crime? Would love to have food truck special nights/days where a variety of food trucks & food options all come together! A Food Truck location like there is in Modesto, might continue to be a good idea. The problem near Library Park is the number of homeless in the area so I've been afraid of being exposed to various health issues. 2
