RESOLUTION R20XX-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE RETROACTIVE PAY FOR CERTAIN WATER AND WASTEWATER OPERATOR POSITIONS WHEREAS, Council approved an amended salary matrix and authorized equity adjustments to the Water and Wastewater Operator Classification series on March 15, 2022; and WHEREAS, retroactive pay was authorized by Council on March 15, 2022 covering the period of October 1, 2021 through March 15, 2022; and WHEREAS, previous administration promised retroactive pay dating further back; and WHEREAS, Operating Engineers Local No 3 (OE3) voted and agreed to accept pay retroactive back to March 1, 2021; and WHEREAS, a further audit discovered four (4) positions were missing from the initial Council report on March 15, 2022; and WHEREAS, the retroactive pay covered under this resolution reflects March 1, 2021 through September 30, 2021; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
1. The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
2. Staff is requesting approval of a budget appropriation in the amount of $75,310.362 to fund the retroactive adjustment in the May 7, 2022 payroll. The retroactive period is March 1, 2021 through September 30, 2021 to be paid as follows:
3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 19th day of April, 2022, by the following vote:
