Tell us about yourself (i.e. background, education, career experience, interests). 1 am an Athlete, I play competitive soccer, softball and volleyball. I love to read and learn about American history. I graduated eighth grade with straight A's all year, I received the AVID award and I was honored with valedictorian. I also had tested at college levels for reading last year which has gotten me placed in English honors this year. In fact, my teacher had said I have the highest scores she had ever seen. From sixth to eighth grade | participated in Advancement Via Individual Determination, (AVID) which was an elective you had to be recommended for. In that class we had monthly community service logs, finding career path projects, college tours and donatation drives. This is where I found my passion to be a part of my city and help improve it. I currently attend Sierra High School and work hard to get a scholarship for academics and athletics. After high school, I wish to attend Johns Hopkins University and become either a trauma surgeon or orthopedic surgeon. During summer vacation every year I spend my time earning money by babysitting and working at a local mechanic shop as a custodian.

I volunteer for Manteca Youth Focus which includes many hours of volunteer work throughout the city.
Such as, I volunteered at the kids zone for the 2021 Manteca Pumpkin Fair, I helped the Soroptimist Club with their meeting at the Bank of Stockton, I regularly attend Chamber of Commerce meetings, I helped pack troop care packages and I am currently collecting pajamas for Agape Villages Foster Family Agency.

I am currently the first ever Miss Watermelon Street Faire 2021 sponsored by Chambers of Commerce with Manteca Youth Focus.

Hi, my name is Harshaan. I am currently a sophomore at Lathrop high school. I focus heavily on my academics as I want to be successful. I am interested in the Youth Advisory Committee because I truly want to make an impact on our community. At my high school I am currently involved in Model UN interact and the go green club. I have also volunteered at food banks and churches over the summer.
Making our community a safer place for the youth and upcoming children of Manteca is my ultimate goal.
I have always been a problem-solver and my critical thinking will allow me to achieve my goal.

I have volunteered at the second harvest food back in manteca. I have also volunteered at the grace & mercy charitable foundation in Lodi. Both of these locations required me to assist people with their needs.
I also had the job of organizing and giving out products. I thrived at both locations as I enjoyed interacting with the community and helping others.

From being on the youth advisory commission I will benefit by gaining more experience about the functions of the city council. I will also have the opportunity to expand my knowledge on issues that go on in our community and how I can help fix them. Overall by being on the youth advisory commission I will also obtain the ability to work with others in an effective manner and develop skills I will use throughout the course of my life.

I will bring my social/ critical thinking skills to the youth advisory commission to better the youth and teens in manteca. I believe that I have the capability of effectively working with others to help issues and fix them to the best of my ability. I will always prioritize bettering our community of teens as I will give it my all. I do believe that I am qualified to take on this position because I am knowledgeable about the issues our community faces, and I am highly passionate about bettering the youth.
