RESOLUTION R2022-XXX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, RECEIVE A PRESENTATION ON THE DROUGHT AND WATER CONSERVATION EFFORTS FOLLOWED BY A CITY COUNCIL DISCUSSION WHEREAS, severe drought conditions currently exist in California throughout the majority of the state; and WHEREAS, on May 28, 2022, the State Water Resource Control Board adopted an emergency regulation, Resolution No. 2022-0018, to reduce water demand and improve water conservation; and WHEREAS, Governor Newsome issued Executive Order N 7-22 that requires urban water suppliers to implement stage 2 of their water shortage contingency plan and prohibits the use of potable water for the irrigation of non-functional turf at commercial, industrial and institutional sites; and WHEREAS, the City Council shall declared a drought, in accordance with the Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP), when a water emergency is declared by the State, and WHEREAS, staff received direction on proposed edits to Manteca Municipal. Code Section 13.04.210, unlawful water use; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
The City Council hereby directs staff to edit Manteca Municipal Code Section 13.04.210.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 19th day of July, 2022, by the following vote:
