Tell us about yourself (i.e. background, education, career experience, interests).
Hello, My name is Alysa Jimenez! I am a Junior at East Union High School. So far during my education I have managed to maintain a 4.0+ GPA as well as lots of community and school service hours. I have recently got my license, that has been a crazy adventure. No one told me the hardest thing would be parking… who knew! I have been apart of leadership like classes since 7th grade. Currently I am in East Union's Student Leadership Class as the Jr Class VP which is following my year as Sophomore Class treasurer. This class have given me incredible learning opportunities and the chance to really make a difference in my school. I am also President of East Unions MUSD advantage pathway. This program is for future educators and with this I have been able to grow my skill with working with our future leaders.
My favorite activity with this is reading to elementary school (a few times a month/ whenever they would take us). So a little about my interests. I have many interests, so to name a few, I enjoy helping others, it's one of my favorite passions. I enjoy planning events, I haven't been able to plan a charity like event on my own but I have been able to help plan a handful now. I have a strong interest in education and I enjoy school very much. I am passionate about making a diferente and I hope to accomplish this for our community if given the chance. I enjoy normal things like reading, listening to music and spending time with my friends and family!
List any experiences you have serving on other Boards & Commissions in the City of Manteca or elsewhwere.
I have not served on any other Boards & Commissions in the City of Manteca. With the crazy time in the world we are living in my first term on the Board was as a Covid year could be expected. I would love to continue growing from this amazing opportunity I was granted my freshman year .

I enjoy reading to the kids and the few teaching opportunities I have been granted! I am always looking for more ways to help out and hope to continue volunteering this school year and working this summer.

Question applies to Youth Advisory Commission
Are you currently a member of a local community organization? if so, please list.
Again sadly no. I would love to be but it hasn't worked out with my age. This is the first possible opportunity that I've been given a chance to be apart of.
Question applies to Youth Advisory Commission
What benefits do you believe you will obtain from being on the Youth Advisory Commission?
I believe being on the Youth Advisory Commission would benefit me greatly. It would allow me to experience and be apart of what is happening with Youth in the city I call my home. The Youth Advisory Commission allows teens to talk about things that affects them like gang prevention and drug and alcohol abuse. I find it extremely important that these topics are talked about, especially by teens. This would be an incredible opportunity.

What will you bring to the Youth Advisory Commission to better the youth and teens in the City of Manteca?
Given the chance I believe I can grow as a person and help my community. I believe a lot of other people can bring that to the table as well, but I take pride in the topics and discussions that I am apart of. I am a very determined person which has benefited my work style greatly. I've been told I'm very mature for a 15 year old which I don't disagree with but I also don't really like it being said. The idea that teens can't be knowledgeable and hard working is an idea that really needs disappear. As a child, because that's what I am, I am hard working, smart, passionate, determined and so much more. If given the chance I believe I could bring all of that with me and as I grow, because from what I'm aware this is a 2 year position, I can bring more and more. Thank you for your time and consideration for this wonderful opportunity.
