RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN TO INCREASE THE TOTAL PROJECT BUDGET FOR THE AIRPORT WAY PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (CIP 11027) AND APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES BETWEEN THE CITY OF MANTECA AND TRC ENGINEERS, INC. FOR THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AND INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE AIRPORT WAY PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT (CIP 11027) AND LIBRARY PARKING LOT RENOVATION (CIP 22062) WHEREAS, to ensure the continued road maintenance of City streets, Public Works proposed construction of the Airport Way Pavement Improvements Project (CIP 11027) and Library Parking Lot Renovation (CIP 22062), (collectively the “Projects”); and WHEREAS, the Construction Management & Inspection Services will be done by a consultant for both Projects. A Request for Proposals was published and the City received five submittals for Construction Management & Inspection Services; and WHEREAS, TRC Engineers, Inc was selected after reviewing the consultant proposal qualifications; and WHEREAS, the City Council awards TRC Engineers, Inc. the Construction Management & Inspection Services contract in an amount of $311,456.62 for the Projects (CIP 11027) and (CIP 22062); and WHEREAS, Airport Way Pavement Improvement Project (CIP 11027) required extra inspection and material testing services for night time and additional pavement dig-out work; and WHEREAS, CalTrans requires work within their right-of-way take place at night; and WHEREAS, required night work and inspection activities added additional construction inspection and material test services, which need extra funding; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
Amend the Capital Improvement Plan to increase the total project budget for the Airport Way Pavement Improvement Project (CIP 11027) by $50,000; bringing the new total project budget to $ 4,328,560.
Appropriate $50,000 from RTIF Undesignated Reserves to the Airport Way Widening/Pavement Improvement (CIP 11027) account number (430.00.00.900-8150.35) for Construction Management and Inspection services.
Authorizes the City Manager or designee to sign the agreement and associated documents; and authorize the City Manager or designee to extend the agreement.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
