RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, State of California, APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 1 to the agreement for professional services between the city of manteca and tjkm extending the performance period to provide professional services for design and environmental services for the retroreflective traffic sign project hsip 5242(033) (cip no. 16027) WHEREAS, The Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) is a federal program that funds transportation-related safety projects including traffic signal and traffic sign improvements for local roadways; and WHEREAS, The City of Manteca (City) applied for a Federal HSIP Grant to improve the City’s traffic signs; and WHEREAS, State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) awarded a HSIP Grant in the amount of $2,635,000 to the City to replace street signs that are not in compliance with the California Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices – the Retroreflective Traffic Sign Project HSIP 5242 (033) (CIP No. 16027) (the “Project”); and WHEREAS, On August 17, 2017, the City entered into an Agreement for Professional Services with TJKM to provide professional services for Design and Environmental Services for the Project for an amount not-to-exceed $389,183; and WHEREAS, The Agreement expires on December 31, 2022, and as such, the Engineering Department desires to amend the Agreement with TJKM extending the Performance Period up to December 31, 2025; and WHEREAS, Extending the Performance Period of the Agreement via Amendment will allow the Engineering Department to receive all necessary services from TJKM that was originally included in the Agreement through the construction phase and Project closeout period; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
Approve Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement for Professional Services between the City of Manteca and TJKM to provide professional services for Design and Environmental Services for the Retroreflective Traffic Sign Project HSIP 5242(033) (CIP No. 16027).
Authorize the City Manager or designee to sign the agreement and associated documents; and authorize the City Manager or designee to extend the agreement.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
