RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPROVING an amendment to capital improvement plan project no. 22045 and a budget APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS TO COMPLETE PROCUREMENT OF a SOLID WASTE GRAPPLE TRUCK WHEREAS, the City of Manteca Solid Waste Division had budgeted $250,000 for Capital Improvement Project (CIP) 22045 for the purchase of a Grapple Truck and claw; and WHEREAS, the intended use of this equipment is to pick up illegally dumped garbage throughout the City; specifically in areas that are difficult to access with current pieces of equipment. The grapple truck will allow staff to easily gather up debris and garbage from illegal encampments, illegal dumping in the alleyways; hazardous and heavy materials that are not safe to be handled by hand and can cause harm or illness to staff; and WHEREAS, the price of an additional grapple piece and freight increased the total cost of the CIP by $4,765.26, more than what was budgeted. The increase in cost has direct link to the impact of economic inflation. Staff is requesting a budget appropriation of $10,000.00 to have financial backing for any additional unforeseen increases; WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
Amend the Capital Improvement Plan to increase the total project budget for CIP 22045 (Grapple Truck) by $10,000; bringing the new total project budget to $260,000.
Appropriate $10,000 from the Solid Waste Undesignated Reserves to CIP 22045 (660.00.00.900-7000.03).
4. This Resolution shall take effect on the effective date immediately.
