Congratulations! The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) approved awards for the first round of the SB 1383 Local Assistance Grant Program. The Grant Award package consists of the following:
• Exhibit A – Terms and Conditions
• Exhibit B – Procedures and Requirements
Your specific award amount is $124,088.
Please note that your budget and activities have not yet been approved. I will be reaching out to you in the next few weeks to revise your budget and discuss eligible and ineligible costs. I strongly suggest that you wait to incur costs until after our conversation. If costs are incurred prior and it is determined that an item is ineligible, it will not be approved.
The grant award is subject to the condition as stated in the Request for Approval of Awards for SB1383 Local Assistance Grant Program. If the recommended grantee does not pay or bring current all outstanding debts or scheduled payments owed to CalRecycle within 60 calendar days of the date of this letter, then the proposed grantee will not have met the required conditions, and the award will be void.
Please retain all Grant Award package documents, which include Exhibits A and B for your records.

Dear Grantee
Congratulations on the SB1383 Local Assistance Grant Program Award. As you may have noticed that the award amount for your jurisdiction is different than what was requested. With this award amount, CalRecycle will need the revised budget. The revised budget must be approved before the grantee can start incurring cost for this grant. The narrowed down budget categories for this grant are below and all eligible expenses must fit in these categories:
• Admin
• Collection
• Compliance/Inspection/Enforcement
• Education
• Equipment
• Personnel
• Upgrade/Expansion
You can find the list of eligible items in the Procedures and Requirements. A budget revision template form is attached for your reference.
The sooner I get the budget revision, sooner I will be able to process the revision and you will be able to start incurring the cost once approved. Please review your initially submitted budget to remove any items that might be ineligible for this grant program.
Any items that are ineligible on the revised budget may delay the approval process.
