RESOLUTION R20XX-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE APPROVAL TO AMEND THE SALARY MATRIX FOR THE MANTECA MID MANAGERS ASSOCIATION (MMA) AND AUTHORIZING A BUDGET APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $28,933.20 TO FUND THE EQUITY ADJUSTMENT TO THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING WHEREAS, the Human Resources Department conducted two recruitments to fill the Deputy Director of Engineering vacancies; and WHEREAS, the candidates declined the positions due to the low salary; and WHEREAS, a compensation and classification analysis was requested by the department and a comprehensive analysis was conducted; and WHEREAS, the analysis concluded that the position was underpaid by nearly 15% of the median range of comparable agencies; and WHEREAS, a recommendation was made to increase the salary of the Deputy Director of Engineering position to be within 10% of the median range of comparable agencies; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
1. The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
2. A budget appropriation of $28,933.20 for the equity adjustment to the Deputy Director of Engineering is required to fund the increase.
3. Approval of the MMA Salary Matrix.
4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 20th day of December, 2022, by the following vote:
