RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AWARD OF RFP FOR TIRE AND REPAIRS SERVICES AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE A THREE-YEAR CONTRACT WITH MCCOY TRUCK TIRES SERVICE CENTER, INC. FOR TIRE PURCHASES AND REPAIRS FOR THE CITY OF MANTECA’S FLEET IN THE AMOUNT OF $170,000 ANNUALLY WITH TOTAL COMPENSATION NOT TO EXCEED $510,000 WHEREAS, The City Fleet Division maintains City vehicles which includes the changing and repairs of the Fleets Tires. Including the process of retreading tires which cuts down costs. The Fleet Division maintains tires for all City Vehicles; and WHEREAS, staff released a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Tire Maintenance of the fleets tires, and evaluated proposals submitted to determine the City of Manteca’s best fit; and WHEREAS, after evaluation of the proposals, it was determined that McCoy Truck Tires is the best fit for needs of the City of Manteca; and WHEREAS, the City spent an average of $150,000 annually in the past three years, however due to the increasing cost of materials and inflation, staff projects the cost at $170,000 annually for the next three years with total compensation not-to-exceed $510,000; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that Council award the Request for Proposal to McCoy Truck Tires Service Center, Inc. and authorize the City Manager to execute the contract and any amendments or extensions that adhere to the City of Manteca’s Purchasing Policy and are within the annually budgeted amount; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
Awards Request for Proposal of Tires and Repair Services to the most qualified bidder, McCoy Truck Tires Service Center, Inc.
Authorizes the City Manager, or designee, to sign and execute the 3-year contract with McCoy Truck Tires Service Center Inc., for annual amount not to exceed $170,000 and total compensation not-to-exceed $510,000 and execute any extensions or amendments that adhere to the City of Manteca’s Purchasing policy and are within the annually budgeted allocation.
This Resolution shall take effect on the effective date immediately.
