RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE LIBRARY & LITERACY FOUNDATION FOR SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,000 AND APPROPRIATE THE SAME TO INTERGOVERNMENTAL GRANTS – STATE/COUNTY POET LAUREATE (REVENUE ACCOUNT NO. 100.20.30.350-4475.05) AND ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES – POET LAUREATE (EXPENSE ACCOUNT NO. 100.20.30.350-6600.45) TO ESTABLISH A POET LAUREATE PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE GRANT AGREEMENT WHEREAS, the City of Manteca applied for and received a grant from The Library & Literacy Foundation for San Joaquin County in the amount of $15,000; and WHEREAS, the funding will promote and celebrate the arts, support local poets, and enhance the cultural vibrancy of our community by establishing a Poet Laureate program; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
The City Council of the City of Manteca does hereby accept the grant from the Library & Literacy Foundation in the amount of $15,000 for the establishment of a Poet Laureate Program.
Appropriate $15,000 to Intergovernmental Grants – State/County Poet Laureate (Revenue Account No. 100.20.30.350-4475.05) Appropriate $15,000 to Administrative Expenses – Poet Laureate (Expense Account No. 100.20.30.350-6600.45) This Resolution shall take effect on the effective date immediately.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 18th day of April, 2023, by the following vote:
