RESOLUTION R2023-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AWARDING THE CORWIN DRIVE & SUESS COURT WATER & SEWER LINE INSTALLATION PROJECT CIP NO. 23008 TO D.A. WOOD CONSTRUCTION, INC., APPROVE PROJECT CONSTRUCTION CONTINGENCY, AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO TAKE ALL APPROPRIATE ACTIONS WHEREAS, the Corwin Drive & Suess Court Water & Sewer Line Installation Project CIP No. 23008 (Project) was authorized to bid by the City Council on June 20, 2023; and WHEREAS, two bids were received and opened on July 6, 2023:
D.A. Wood Construction, Inc. $853,097
Mozingo Construction, Inc. $1,230,147; and
WHEREAS, the low bid was within the City Engineer’s expected cost range; and WHEREAS, there is sufficient funds in the CIP budget for the Project; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
The City Council hereby determines D.A. Wood Construction, Inc. (Contractor) to be the lowest, responsive, and responsible, bidder for the Project.
The City Council hereby awards the Project to Contractor in the amount of $853,097.
The City Council hereby approves approve Project construction contingency not to exceed 10% for a total project cost of $938,407.
The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager or their designee to execute the construction contract, approve change orders up to the total Project cost, apply for permits, apply for State and Federal grants, solicit project funding support, complete and execute all associated documents, and take all appropriate actions necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of the resolution.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 18th day of July, 2023, by the following vote:
