RESOLUTION R2023-XXX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE END TO THE DROUGHT EMERGENCY AND DISCONTINUE STAGE 2 OF THE WATER SHORTAGE CONTINGENCY PLAN WHEREAS, on June 21, 2022, the City Council declared a drought emergency and implemented Stage 2 of the Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP); and WHEREAS, on March 24, 2023, the State modified several of the Executive Orders and Emergency Proclamations put in place during the drought emergency; and WHEREAS, based on the abundant rainfall and snow pack received over the winter, staff recommends Council adopt a resolution to declare an end to the drought emergency and discontinue Stage 2 of the WSCP; and WHEREAS, Manteca Municipal Code Section 13.04.210 (Unlawful Water Use), which prohibits unnecessary and wasteful uses of water remains in effect; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
The City Council hereby declare an end to the drought emergency and discontinue Stage 2 of the Water Shortage Contingency Plan.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 15th day of August, 2023, by the following vote:
