RESOLUTION R2023-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, (1) APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE RETROREFLECTIVE TRAFFIC SIGN PROJECT CIP NO. 16027, (2) AUTHORIZING A CALL FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION, AND (3) AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO APPLY FOR PERMITS, APPLY FOR STATE AND FEDERAL GRANTS, SOLICIT PROJECT FUNDING SUPPORT, COMPLETE AND EXECUTE ALL ASSOCIATED DOCUMENTS, AND TAKE ALL APPROPRIATE ACTIONS NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THE PURPOSE AND INTENT OF THE RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) is a federal program that funds transportation-related safety projects including traffic signal and traffic sign improvements for local roadways; and WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Caltrans awarded an HSIP Grant to the City to replace street signs that are not in compliance with the California Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices in the amount of $2,635,000; and WHEREAS, the City entered into an agreement for professional services with TJKM to develop project plans, specification, and estimates (PS&E); and WHEREAS, TJKM has completed the project PS&E, which are available for review in the Engineering Department; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
The City Council hereby approves Plans and Specifications for the Retroreflective Traffic Sign Project CIP No. 16027.
The City Council hereby authorizes a Call for Bids for construction.
The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager or designee to apply for permits, apply for State and Federal grants, solicit project funding support, complete and execute all associated documents, and take all appropriate actions necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of the resolution.
This Resolution shall take effect on the effective date immediately.
