RESOLUTION R2023-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A BUDGET APPROPRIATION FROM MEASURE M RESERVES OF $200,000 TO CAPITAL OUTLAY VEHICLES – MAJOR (ACCOUNT NO. 320.00.00.900-7000.02) TO PURCHASE USED FIRE APPARATUS(S) AND EQUIP FOR RESPONSE; AMEND THE FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN TO INCLUDE THIS PROJECT; ASSIGN A PROJECT NUMBER; AND AUTHORIZE THE FIRE CHIEF OR DESIGNEE TO SIGN AND TAKE ALL NECESSARY STEPS TO EFFECTUATE THE PURCHASE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CITY PURCHASING POLICY.
WHEREAS, The Fire Department is currently facing multiple apparatus challenges and is in of purchasing another apparatus and equipping the apparatus for response; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1335 authorizes the purchase of fire protection equipment or apparatus under the Public Safety Expenditure Plan. There is sufficient unassigned funding in Measure M Reserves above and beyond the required 25% reserve threshold for these purchases; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
Approve budget appropriation of $200,000 from Measure M Reserves to Account No. 320.00.00.900-7000.02.
Amend the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) to include this purchase as a project and assign a project number.
Authorize the Fire Chief or designee to sign and take all necessary steps to effectuate the purchase.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
