RESOLUTION R2023-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE USE OF CALACT/MBTA VEHICLE PURCHASING COOPERATIVE #1801 TO PURCHASE TWO NEW CNG BUSES FOR THE MANTECA TRANSIT SYSTEM WHEREAS, the City of Manteca is a member of the California Association for Coordinated Transportation (CALACT); and WHERES; CALACT, as a component of promoting collaboration an exchange among small transit agencies provides Purchasing Cooperatives for small agencies to “piggyback” on allowing the City to receive competitive pricing that might not otherwise be received on the purchase of two vehicles; and WHERES; Vehicle Purchasing Cooperative #18-01, which was issued through a joint effort between CALACT and Morongo Basin Transit Authority (MBTA), authorizes the City to purchase two (2) 29-foot long Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powered, low floor transit buses from Gillig, LLC of Livermore, California; and WHEREAS, the City desires to utilize CALACT/MBTA Vehicle Purchasing Cooperative #18-01; and WHEREAS, the quote, based on contract pricing for two Gillig Low Floor 29-foot bus is $1,533,626, and staff is also including a 3% contingency budget to address any potential changes during production, for a total not to exceed amount of $1,579,635; and WHEREAS, this major equipment purchase has a total budget of $1,691,987 approved as part of the Fiscal Year 2023-24 budget; and WHEREAS, the City has available funding from Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) 5307, and Transportation Development Act (TDA) funding, for a total amount of $1,600,000; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
1. The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
2. That the City Council does hereby approve the use of the CalACT/MBTA Vehicle Purchasing Cooperative #18-01 to purchase two replacement buses.
3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 21st day of November, 2023, by the following vote:
