RESOLUTION R2023-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING AND SALARY MATRIX FOR THE MANTECA FIREFIGHTERS IAFF LOCAL 1874 (FIRE) THROUGH JUNE 30, 2025 WHEREAS, the City of Manteca has a memorandum of understanding with the Manteca Firefighters IAFF Local 1874 (FIRE); and WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding expired on June 30, 2023; and WHEREAS, the City of Manteca and FIRE negotiated and agreed to a new contract; and
WHEREAS, the term of the new contract is July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, a 2% COLA will be received by all job classifications effective the first pay period following ratification with no retroactive payment; and WHEREAS, a one-time non-PERSable payment of $5,000 will be paid to members of this unit, utilizing American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funds; and WHERAS, there is an additional specialized assignment tiller premium of 5% to the Firefighter classification only; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
Approval of appropriating American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funds in the amount of $220,000. to fund the agreed upon contract with FIRE.
Approval of the FIRE Memorandum of Understanding effective July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2025.
Approval of the FIRE Salary Matrix effective November 16, 2023.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 21st day of November, 2023, by the following vote:
