RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) FOR TREE TRIMMING SERVICES FOR THE CITYS’ PARKS DIVISION TO WEST COAST ARBORISTS, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $200,000 ANNUALLY WITH A TOTAL NOT-TO-EXCEED $600,000, AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACT, EXTENSIONS, AMENDMENTS AND ANY ASSOCIATED DOCUMENTS THAT ADHERE TO THE CITY OF MANTECA’S PURCHASING POLICY WHEREAS, to best serve the City of Manteca’s needs and following the City’s Purchasing Policy, the Public Works Department released a Request for Proposal (RFP) on October 2, 2023 with proposals due November 13, 2023. After reviewing the proposal, staff recommends awarding the three (3) year contract to West Coast Arborists Inc.; and WHEREAS, the Tree Trimming Services and maintenance services will allow City of Manteca Employees to utilize contract services to complete storm clean up and general maintenance of City of Manteca Trees; and WHEREAS, Staff has determined the cost to be $200,000.00 annually with a total of not-to-exceed $600,000.00 over a three (3) year period. These funds are budgeted in the FY24 Adopted LMD/CFD and Parks Maintenance accounts in the Maintenance and Operating Division Operating Budget; and WHEREAS, Staff recommends that Council authorize the City Manager to sign the initial agreement and any amendments, extensions or associated documents which adhere to the City of Manteca’s Purchasing Policy and are within the annually budgeted amount; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
The City Council authorizes awarding the request for proposal (RFP) for tree trimming services for the Citys’ parks division to to West Coast Arborists, inc. in the amount of $200,000 annually with a total not to exceed $600,000., and authorize the City Manager to execute contract, extensions, amendments and any associated documents that adhere to the city of Manteca’s purchasing policy.
3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 19th day of December, 2023, by the following vote:
