RESOLUTION R2024-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A COPS HIRING PROGRAM GRANT FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE IN THE AMOUNT OF $625,000, AND APPROVING APPROPRIATION FOR SAME AMOUNT WHEREAS, the City of Manteca applied for and has been awarded a grant in the amount of $625,000.00 from the U.S. Department of Justice, COPS Hiring Program; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
1. The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
2. The City Council of the City of Manteca does hereby accept a $625,000.00 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, COPS Hiring Program and approves appropriation of funds as follows:
Appropriate $625,000 in revenue to the Police Grants Fund – Intergovernmental Grants – Federal US Dept of Justice (Account No. 150.00.00.900-4450.29).
Appropriate $83,333.34 in expenditures to the Police Grant Fund – Salaries Regular (Account No. 150.11.00.200-5000.01).
Appropriate $224,340.26 in expenditures to the General Fund – Salaries Regular (Account No. 100.11.00.200-5000.01).
3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 16th day of January, 2024, by the following vote:
