SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
FOR THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA
January 4, 2024
CALL TO ORDER: 1:02 p.m.
Roll Call:
Present: Halford, Morowit, Nuño, Breitenbucher, Singh
FLAG SALUTE: Flag salute was led by Councilmember Halford.
AGENDA REVIEW AND SUPPLEMENTAL REPORTS:
Assistant City Clerk Marco Martinez announced the following supplemental report:
- Item B.1. – City Council Goals and Priorities Ranking Sheet.
DISCLOSURE OF EX PARTE COMMUNICATIONS: None.
A. PUBLIC COMMENT: None.
B. DISCUSSION ITEMS:
B.1. 24-007 Receive and discuss workshop presentation on the creation of new city Mission, Vision, and Values and provide direction to staff.
City Manager Toni Lundgren provided a brief report and introduced Battalion Chief Sterrie McLeod and Deputy Director of Planning Lea Simvoulakis who provided a PowerPoint presentation and workshop to City Council. City Council completed a City Council
goals and priorities ranking sheet in preparation for the upcoming February 28, 2024 City Council Goals and Priorities Workshop.
City Council consensus received for staff to create
recommendations for a mission, vision, and values statement incorporating the feedback provided by City Council; and to present the the recommendations at a future City Council meeting.
C. CITY MANAGER COMMENTS:
City Manager Toni Lundgren expressed gratitude to McLeod, Simvoulakis, and to City Council for participating in the workshop.
D. COUNCIL COMMENTS:
Councilmember Morowit expressed gratitude to McLeod and Simvoulakis, commented on the workshop; and wished everyone a Happy New Year.
