I am the Administrative Manager at French Camp McKinley Fire District where I manage a budget of five million dollars. I am also the clerk of our five-member board of directors. I graduated summa cum laude from Stanislaus State in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in social science. I am married and have three sons. We have lived in Manteca since 2003. Prior to that I served four years in the United States Air Force. I was stationed at Travis Air Force Base, where I worked in an aircraft maintenance squadron.

Connections start small. Getting to know neighbors and creating a sense of community is a great place to begin making connections. This can happen with cookouts, neighborhood watch groups, and various interest groups or clubs. Outdoor events are another great way to get people together. Pancake breakfasts, fun runs, car shows, music shows.

I am currently the Student Trustee to the San Joaquin Delta College Board of Trustee. I was appointed by the student body government of which I'm also a part of in May. I also served as Senator at-large for the associate students of Delta College before ascending to being a member of the Board of Trustees. I also serve on Delta colleges Equity Main Task Force which serves to improve equity actions within the college which are done through four subcommittees. I am also a member of the colleges facilities committee which works with college infrastructure plans. I have always been intrigued by public service, and when I finally decide to run for Student Government I really flourished in that role helping the students, and when I was appointed to the board of trustee's I again relished in the opportunity to advance the goals and policies of our great college district. I hope and will pledge to do the same should I be appointed to this committee as well.

I think my willingness to be engaging, and my previous growth of knowledge from my time serving on different boards and committees may bring valuable assistance to this committee as well. While my knowledge on the tax code is not stellar, I have learned a lot on the committees I have served and have no doubt that I will be able to quickly grasp the knowledge that comes with this committee as well.

In regards to our taxes, I think having more city sponsored events such as the farmer's market and expanding on other certain events may be a great idea, but I also think that continuing to support the local businesses here and continuing to have them involved in events, especially to drive the growth of our economy by having individuals spend at local businesses. I think marketing will be key in ensuring that people go to these mom and pop shops. I also think that continuing to use the funding to build infrastructure should be a key priority to helping the city prosper.

In terms of events, as stated before, the farmers market that I know has been happening in downtown that I've been to a couple times has been terrific for bringing people together, I think potentially other city sponsored events and programs, including supporting the boys and girls club and other youth programs could also be essential into bringing people who would under usual circumstances may not meet into meeting new people from across our great city.

I am a long time resident of Manteca. I went to Shasta, Brock Elliott and Sierra High and feel like I want to contribute to our City. I consider my self a pubic servant. I served our military for four years including a tour in Afghanistan, currently work for a local district but have served in the past as an employee of the City of Manteca. I am a semester away from completing my bachelors degree in public administration and would love to continue to serve the City and be involved in the process.

Question applies to Public Safety Sales Tax Oversight Committee Why are you interested in serving on the Public Safety Sales Tax Oversight Committee? I have an interest in serving the City. I have lived here a long time and love it. The community can't work without citizens being involved. I care about Public Safety, I think it is important that our team on the front lines has what they need in order to accomplish the mission. I also think that its our duty to ensure that money is being allocated properly. The public is behind our first responders almost unanimously, and we need to make sure they are supported.

I have experience as a first responder, and in the military. In addition to personal experience, I have taken action on preparing myself through education to understand accounting, budgeting, and public policy. I would be happy to come aboard the committee, and learn from the senior members, and contribute in any way I can. Public services and fiscal responsibility are both high priorities for me.

I believe that driving development of more dense housing would be helpful to lower the rent and housing costs in the area. More people would love to live in this city, but have to live further south on 99 in order to be able to manage financially. The navigation center should be pursued, as well as any other avenues of help for that population. I also think that our public parks, and facilities should be safe and clean, so that parents, grandparents and children are able to utilize them. Lastly, public transportation, including alternate transportation like bike lanes, should continue to be a priority. Manteca transit does a great job, and it would be neat to see a focus on bike travel in the city.

More events downtown. I think finding a larger food truck area similar to how Lathrop was able to set up the lot near I5. Multi cultural food venue would bring in the whole community. I think parks and recreation can do a lot to bring the community together as well, through different programs and events.

I want to be involved in my city and have carry-over skills/expertise that will come handy for the committee. I originally moved from San Jose where there was never an opportunity to serve in such roles.

Having a committee member with finance background is very critical as I can ask the right questions and have deeper level understanding of income statements. In my experiences, my guidance has enabled teams to reach/exceed goals whether that be cost savings or tracking return of investment on projects.
Even watching the prior meeting videos I had different questions than the committee asked. On the 10/18/2023 meeting, mark 17:42:20, the director responds by saying there are no actuals given the period hasn't closed. If I was on the committee I would've asked for forecast numbers instead blank actuals as that's common practice in the finance world.

Instead of innovative I believe there are some fundamental things the city can improve on and that is driving foot traffic to downtown Manteca. For the city to prosper, we need to support small businesses and incentives investments that rehab downtown.

I have recently moved to Manteca, but I do enjoyed the city I come from a larger city but I do enjoy what Manteca has to offer. Although it is a must smaller city than Los Angeles where I previously lived I do see Manteca having a tighter bond with their community than I did in Los Angeles. Some ideas I would advice is to encourage people to go out to the different events that the city has to offer. I recently attend an event at woodward park a few weeks ago. I did feel a bit out of place but it was fun and exciting to see a different culture getting together to have fun.

I do see alot of diversity within the city of Manteca but from what I have seen, it does seem like people seem scared to attend new events. For example the event I attended at the park, I did feel out of place I felt like i wasn't wearing the proper attire. In no way shape or form did I want to disrespect the festival, but I was curious to learn more about it.
