RESOLUTION R2024-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A BUDGET APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $67,920.00 FROM THE ASSET SEIZURE RESERVES FOR THE SIGMA TACTICAL WELLNESS PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Police Department requests to utilize funding from the fiscal year 2023-2024 Budget from the Asset Forfeiture Fund in the amount not-to-exceed $67,920 for the Sigma Tactical Wellness Program; and WHEREAS, the Police Department recommends the use of the Asset Forfeiture Fund for Officers to participate in the Sigma Tactical Wellness Program: The wellness of Police Officers is essential to providing service to our community. Statistics have shown officers are at a much higher risk of heart disease as a nature of the job. Identifying those at risk early through this officer wellness program, leads to healthier officers and longevity in their careers; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
The City Council of the City of Manteca approves a budget appropriation of $67,920 from the Asset Forfeiture Fund Reserves to Professional Services (Account No. 155.11.00.260-6000.01) and delegates to the City Manager any further authority necessary to help facilitate and effectuate this appropriation.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 21st day of May, 2024, by the following vote:
