RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A BUDGET APPROPRIATION OF $29,000 FROM the SUPPLEMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES FUND undesignated reserves TO CAPITAL OUTLAY VEHICLE-MAJOR (ACCOUNT NO. 160.11.00.200-7000.02); AND AMEND FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN TO INCLUDE THE ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO THE CANNABIS TAX FUND GRANT PROGRAM VEHICLE (PROJECT NO. 24069) FOR A TOTAL PROJECT COST OF $79,233 WHEREAS, the City of Manteca receives funds through Supplemental Law Enforcement Special Funds (SLESF); and WHEREAS, SLESF funds are grant funds and the enabling legislation mandates each municipality will receive funds yearly to be spent on “front line law enforcement services.”; and WHAREAS, Manteca Police Department received a grant from California Highway Patrol Cannabis Tax Fund (CTFGP) to purchase a 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe; and WHEREAS, this grant partially included the cost of the vehicle and did not include the cost of outfitting, such as emergency equipment, radio and decals purchase or install; and WHEREAS, the budget appropriation of $29,000 from SLESF will cover the remaining vehicle cost and outfitting; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
2. Approved a budget appropriation of $29,000 from Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund Undesignated Reserves to Capital Outlay Vehicle-Major (Account No. 160.11.00.200-7000.02).
Amend Fiscal Year 2023-24 Capital Improvement Plan to include the additional appropriation to the Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program Vehicle (Project No. 24069) for a total project cost of $79,933.
The City Council designates that the City Manager or her designee execute any and all documents regarding or relating to this Resolution any related appropriation.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
