Pride Month
June 2024
Whereas, Pride Month is celebrated each year to honor and commemorate the LGBTQ+ community's history, struggles, and achievements; and Whereas, Pride Month serves as a platform to raise awareness about LGBTQ+ rights, promotes inclusivity, and combats discrimination and violence faced by individuals based on their sexual orientation or gender identity; and Whereas, Pride Month celebrates diversity, encourages self-acceptance and empowerment, fosters a sense of community, and advocates for equality and respect for all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity; and Whereas, the City of Manteca commends the bravery and courage of all those in the LGBTQ+ community; and Now, Therefore, I, Gary Singh, Mayor of the City of Manteca, on behalf of City Council, do proclaim June 2024 as Pride Month in the City of Manteca, symbolizing the City’s celebration of diversity.
