RESOLUTION R2024-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPROVING 2024 TITLE VI PROGRAM FOR COMPLIANCE WITH TITLE VI OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964 WHEREAS, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin in programs, services, or activities receiving federal financial assistance; and WHEREAS, any entity received federal financial assistance from the Federal Transit Administration must not discriminate based on race, color, or national origin; and WHEREAS, since the City is receiving federal funding from Federal Transit administration, it is required to have a Title VI Program to implement Federal Title VI non-discrimination requirements; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
1. The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
2. The City Council approves the City of Manteca Transit’s 2024 Title VI Program for Fiscal Years 2025 through 2027 for compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
3. The City Council shall designate that the City Manager shall execute any and all documents necessary to effectuate this compliance and/or arising from this Resolution, including, but not limited to any amendments.
4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 18th day of June, 2024, by the following vote:
