RESOLUTION R20XX-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING A LEGISLATIVE RESPONSE POLICY WHEREAS, oftentimes state and/or federal legislation moves forward rapidly and the City of Manteca (“City”) needs to communicate quickly as to whether it supports or opposes the proposed legislation and the City wishes to advocate its position when the outcome of the legislation could have an effect on the liability of cities, the power of cities or govern or tax, or the ability of cities to conduct and manage the affairs of government in an orderly and efficient manner; and WHEREAS, the purpose of this legislative response policy is to enhance the advocacy efforts on behalf of the City by providing a protocol for responding to legislative bills, actions and/or state and/or federal developments and measures that directly or indirectly affect the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
The City Council adopts the Legislative Response Policy as shown in Exhibit ‘A”.
3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 20th day of August, 2024, by the following vote:
