RESOLUTION 2024-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA APPROVING THE MILITARY EQUIPMENT POLICY AND RENEWING ORDINANCE 2.40.030 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Manteca passed Ordinance Chapter
2.40.030 on April 5, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the Manteca Police Department (“Department”) submitted and posted an updated Manteca Police Department Military Equipment Funding, Acquisition and Use Policy (“Policy”), including an updated Equipment Inventory (“Inventory”) for 2024 on their website pursuant to Government Code Section 7072 on August 21, 2024. On the same date, the Department also posted the Manteca Police Department Military Equipment Report for 2024 (“2024 Report”), as required by Government Code Section 7072(a); and WHEREAS, on September 05, 2024 the Department presented the updated Policy and Inventory for 2024, the 2024 Report, and information from the community engagement meeting to the City Council at a regularly scheduled meeting, as required by Government Code section 7072(a); and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Manteca has reviewed the 2024 Report and the updated Policy for 2024.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Manteca that the 2024 Report meets the requirements of California Government Code Section 7072(a).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, based on the 2024 Report, pursuant to Government Code Section 7071(e)(2) the City Council determines that each type of military equipment identified in the Report has complied with the standards for approval set forth in Government Code Section 7071(d).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council has reviewed Ordinance 2.40.030, as required by Government Code Section 7071(e), and Ordinance 2.40.030 is hereby renewed.
