RESOLUTION R2025-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE USE OF CALACT/MBTA VEHICLE PURCHASING COOPERATIVE #20-01 TO PURCHASE THREE NEW CUTAWAY BUSES FOR THE MANTECA TRANSIT SYSTEM WHEREAS, the City of Manteca is a member of the California Association for Coordinated Transportation (CALACT); and WHERES; CALACT, as a component of promoting collaboration an exchange among small transit agencies provides Purchasing Cooperatives for small agencies to “piggyback” on allowing the City to receive competitive pricing that might not otherwise be received on the purchase of three vehicles; and WHERES; Vehicle Purchasing Cooperative #20-01, which was issued through a joint effort between CALACT and Morongo Basin Transit Authority (MBTA), authorizes the City to purchase three (3) ARBOC cutaway buses from Creative Bus Sales, out of Sacramento, California; and WHEREAS, the City desires to utilize CALACT/MBTA Vehicle Purchasing Cooperative #20-01; and WHEREAS, the quote, based on contract pricing for three (3) ARBOC cutaway buses $787,715.94, and staff is also including a 3% contingency budget to address any potential changes during production; and WHEREAS, this major equipment purchase has a total budget of $1,000,000 approved as part of the FY 2024-25 budget; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
1. The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
2. That the City Council does hereby approve the use of the CalACT/MBTA Vehicle Purchasing Cooperative #20-01 to purchase three replacement buses.
3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the 21st day of January, 2025, by the following vote:
