RESOLUTION R20XX-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A PIERCE VELOCITY TYPE 1 FIRE ENGINE FROM GOLDEN STATE FIRE APPARATUS FOR $1,239,100.44; AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2024-25 BUDGET, AUTHORIZING APPROPRIATION OF $1,239,100.44 FROM FIRE FACILITY FEES FUND; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN THE AGREEMENT AND TAKE ALL NECESSARY STEPS TO COMPLETE THE PURCHASE WHEREAS, the Fire Department is planning the construction of Fire Station 6 in the southwest part of Manteca and will require an additional fire engine, but is aware of the long build times currently affecting manufacturers; and WHEREAS, an opportunity exists to purchase a Pierce Velocity Type 1 fire engine from Golden State Fire Apparatus with the delivery expected in four years; and WHEREAS, making this purchase before April 1, 2025, will result in savings of $216,480, plus any potential tariff costs, and will secure the purchase at the current price; and WHEREAS, an appropriation of $1,239,100.44 is needed to cover the purchase price; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct, and they establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
Authorize City Manager to sign the agreement and any related documents or amendments to purchase one (1) Pierce Velocity Type 1 Fire Engine and take all necessary steps to complete the purchase.
Approve the following appropriation totaling $1,239,100.44 from Fire Facilities Fees Reserves (Fund 530).
4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
