WORLD TOWN PLANNING DAY
November 8, 2025
Whereas, the International Organization for World Town Planning Day was founded in 1949 to advance public and professional interest in planning both locally and abroad and to promote broad-based awareness, participation, and support for community planning among the general public and all government agencies; and Whereas, this year’s theme is With Planning We Can!, and through this statement, we celebrate the change and growth that have led to positive impacts for all states, regions, counties, cities, and towns, including Manteca; and Whereas, the community planning process is intended to empower residents to be involved in making meaningful contributions that set pathways for the prosperous future of Manteca; and Whereas, with thoughtful community planning, we can help manage and direct change and growth in a way that provides better choices for how people live, work, and play in Manteca; and Whereas, we recognize the vital role planning professionals play in fostering a sound and sustainable community that enhances both the natural environment and built space; and Now, Therefore, I, Gary Singh, Mayor of the City of Manteca, on behalf of the City Council, do recognize November 8th, 2025, as World Town Planning Day, and urge all citizens to learn more about the planning industry, its professionals, and how everyone can be part of the planning process.
