RESOLUTION R2026-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPROVING TWO BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF $48,766 FROM THE HIGHWAY INTERCHANGE (FUND 240) AND $806 FROM THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL (FUND 220) TO THE SAFE ROUTE TO SCHOOLS PROJECT (CIP# 23006); AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO TAKE ALL APPROPRIATE ACTIONS NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THE PURPOSE AND INTENT OF THE RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, the Safe Routes to School Project CIP 23006 (“Project”) is focused on improvements in the areas surrounding Manteca High School, Sierra High School, Golden West Elementary School, Shasta Elementary School, Stella Brockman Elementary School, and Brock Elliott Elementary School. The Project includes the installation of enhanced pedestrian crossings, ADA-compliant curb ramps and sidewalks, a new pedestrian hybrid beacon, and a traffic signal. These improvements aim to enhance pedestrian access and ensure safer travel for students attending the six schools in Manteca; and WHEREAS, on July 30, 2025, the City Council awarded the construction Contract to George Reed, Inc. in the amount of $3,654,700; and WHEREAS, recently during the Project construction, the City identified additional pavement work necessary to meet ADA requirements at 10 curb ramps as well as additional traffic warning signs needed with an estimated cost exceeding the available contingency; and WHEREAS, the Engineering and Finance Departments have identified $48,766 in Fund 240 and $806 in Fund 220 available for use towards the Project costs; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct and establishes the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
The City Council hereby approves a budget appropriation of $48,766 in highway interchange (Fund 240) to the Safe Route to Schools Project CIP#23006.
The City Council hereby approves a budget appropriation of $806 in traffic signal (Fund 220) to the Safe Route to Schools Project CIP#23006.
The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager or designee to take all appropriate actions necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of the resolution.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
