RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MANTECA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, OFFICE OF JUSTICE PROGRAMS, BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE, EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $19,310 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026-27; APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO THE POLICE GRANT FUND (FUND 150); AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO TAKE ALL NECESSARY STEPS TO EFFECTUATE THE AGREEMENT, INCLUDING ANY EXTENSIONS OR AMENDMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Manteca applied for and received a grant in the amount of $19,310 from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance, Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered all information related to this matter, as presented at the public meetings of the City Council identified herein, including any supporting reports by City Staff, and any information provided during public meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Manteca, as follows:
1. The City Council hereby finds that the facts set forth in the recitals to this Resolution are true and correct and establish the factual basis for the City Council’s adoption of this Resolution.
2. The City Council of the City of Manteca does hereby accept a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance, Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program in the amount of $19,310 and approve an appropriation to the Police Grant Fund (Fund 150) revenue and expenditure lines.
3. The City Council agrees that the Chief of Police of the City of Manteca is authorized to execute on behalf of the City Council a contract, including any extensions or amendments thereof and any subsequent contract with the State in relation thereto pursuant with the Purchasing Policy.
4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Manteca at a public meeting of said City Council held on the day of September 15, 2026 by the following vote:
