National Native American Heritage Month
November 2026
Whereas, November is nationally recognized as Native American Heritage Month, a time to honor and celebrate the rich histories, diverse cultures, enduring traditions, and significant contributions of Indigenous peoples throughout the United States; and Whereas, the history and identity of our nation have been profoundly shaped by generations of Indigenous peoples whose cultural knowledge, artistic expressions, innovations, and contributions to agriculture, education, environmental stewardship, and community leadership continue to enrich American society; and Whereas, through generations of resilience, strength, and perseverance, Native American communities have preserved their languages, cultural identities, and ancestral traditions while overcoming historical challenges and continuing to make meaningful contributions to our growth and progress; and Whereas, this annual observance provides an opportunity to reflect upon the achievements and lasting legacy of Indigenous peoples while encouraging greater awareness, cultural appreciation, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to honoring the diverse histories and traditions that strengthen our city; and Now, Therefore, I, Gary Singh, Mayor of the City of Manteca, on behalf of City Council, do recognize November 2026 as “National Native American Heritage Month” in the City of Manteca and encourage all residents to recognize, celebrate, and honor the rich cultural heritage, enduring traditions, and invaluable contributions of Native American peoples DATE: October 20, 2026
