4. WELCOME RECEPTION: Izunokuni, Japan
a. Welcome Friendship City delegation from Izunokuni, Japan and presentation of proclamation exchange acknowledging Sister City relationship s and Tree Planting.
City Council presented certificates of appreciation to the Marina All-Star Team, 2024 West Zone Bronco NorCal Super Regional Champions.
Mayor Yamashita, Izunokumi, Japan gave a presentation on the city of Izunokumi and what it has to offer.
Exchange of proclamations given to Izunokumi from Marina, Monterey County Board of Supervisors, Monterey Peninsula Unified School District, Congressman Jimmy Pennetta and Senator John Laird.
City Council and Izunokumi delegates moved the meeting outside to the front of City Hall for the planting of the Cherry Blossom Tree and the reading of the plaque.
