Subject: Appointment to the Board of Directors of the Feather River Air Quality Management District
Recommendation:
Pass a Motion approving one (1) new appointment to the Feather River Air Quality Management District (FRAQMD) Board of Directors 2022.
Rationale for Recommendation:
FRAQMD requires a resolution from participating jurisdictions authorizing new appointments, including alternates.
Background:
In accordance with the agreement for the composition of the Feather River Air Quality Management District, approval is required from the Marysville City Council on all new appointments made to the FRAQMD Board of Directors. The one new appointment for 2022 is Councilman Shon Harris, Alternate Director, representing the City of Yuba City.
Discussion & Analysis:
The purpose of the recommended action is to appoint one new member to the FRAQMD Board of Directors. Councilman Shon Harris, Alternate Director, representing the City of Yuba City.
Alignment with City Council Goal(s):
While this agenda item is not directly tied to an established City Council Goal, it does support Goals #2:
Expand Economic Development Opportunities, by supporting surrounding communities to better the region; and Goal #4: Enhance Public Safety, by maintain public health and keeping our citizens aware of current air quality levels.
