Subject: Approve Facilities Use Agreement for ‘Bryant Field’ located at 1431 C Street Recommendation:
Pass a Motion to approve a Facilities Use Agreement between the City of Marysville and YCM Baseball Group, LLC for “Bryant Field” for the 2022 baseball season, located at 1431 C Street.
Rationale for Recommendation:
The YCM Baseball Group, LLC has shown a strong interest in continuing the Yuba Sutter Gold Sox Baseball Team and summer season despite the challenges of re-opening the community to regular business activities. The team is a great source of community pride and will certainly elevate the community spirit as the Bi-County region moves past the Covid 19 pandemic.
Background:
In the spring of 2021, the City entered into a one-year lease agreement for Bryant Field with the YCM Baseball Group, LLC, the owners of the Yuba Sutter Gold Sox Team. The onset of the Covid 19 pandemic stalled the negotiations for a multi-year summer lease agreement for Bryant Field and the parties agreed that in light of the pandemic, a single-season contract for 2020 then 2021 were appropriate. The 2020- 2021 seasons were played successfully but with limited attendance as mandated by State and County health guidelines. The team will enter this new 2022 season and will, again, enter into a one-year agreement with the City.
Discussion & Analysis:
City staff and the YCM Baseball Group have negotiated and concluded that a single-season lease with similar terms to prior season lease terms would be appropriate, with a $3,000 fee to accommodate a slightly longer season spanning from May 1 to August 15, 2022.

The proposed project is supported by Goal #2: Expand Economic Development and Goal #5: Support parks & Recreation.
Legal Review:
The City Attorney reviewed the attached Facilities Use Agreement.
